I have been collecting vinyl records for over forty years now and due to my vast collection I ran out of space in my house to store it. I opened my shop in 2016 which when I look back, was perfect timing with the resurgence of vinyl. However, opening my shop was a big risk for me, given that at the time there were more shops closing down than opening.
I have got thousands of used vinyl records covering all genres and coming into my shop is a wonderful memory lane trip for so many of my customers. If by chance I haven’t got what they are looking for I will always try to find it elsewhere. The walls are covered in posters and lots of other music memorabilia which are great conversation pieces and nostalgic.
I have had fantastic feedback from my customers who say they are overjoyed at having a ‘proper’ record shop in town again and have a great following on Facebook. I absolutely love what I do and can’t imagine life without vinyl!
