26 years ago I created a concept independent shop that did not exist, a shop entirely devoted to just bees and honey. The shop is run by my family of forth generation beekeepers who produce honey from our local London beehives and our Surrey bee farm. We offer so many customer in house shopping experiences, honey taster table, children bee talks, live observation beehive, stickers, postcards, leaflets, beekeeping/pest control advise and mini bee museum all free! Walking into the shop customers comment on how calm, cosy and authentic the shop is not wanting to leave. We remember the names, faces and life stories of our customers. Many come back simply to chat, something that is needed to hold a community together in this time of isolated cyber shopping. We work alongside nature giving back far more to the planet than we take away. Our bees help pollinate British food crops, flowers, trees, all essential to fuel the ecosystem and support the food chain. The shop works tirelessly publicising and campaigning to save our bees, working with pest control agencies to help them better understand our need to protect not destroy bees. We are the complete full circle of the supply chain. We nurture our bees, harvest the raw honey, hand bottle each jar then place them on the shelf. We know our products and gain pride in making time to answer questions, chat about what bees do, how honey is collected or how to become a beekeeper. Our carbon footprint from farm to shop is 9 miles. Beekeepers since 1924, celebrating our 94th year making family honey formulas.
