Burway Books is also a Sanctuary of sorts; there is a wonderful aura in the building we now occupy, although we do have a friendly imp who occasionally rearranges our books!
Locals and visitors alike love to visit us, and as they do they are more than welcome to browse the bookshelves, to rest on the variety of cushioned chairs and stools – there is even a little stool for the littlest person – while lying on the floor reading is another option. We could have ‘mood’ music but we don’t as it’s too distracting; the music of words on the page is the option here.* It is a warm and friendly environment – in many respects cwtch! – in which you can spend time browsing. We do our best to align the stock to our customers’ needs, and after over forty years we hope we can share our knowledge with you!
We will be always here to help you chose the perfect book as a gift for others or yourself; to offer recommendations and suggestions. But we will always leave you free to choose whatever you please; we don’t judge, we don’t discriminate and all are welcome.
