Indie retail village wins Hospitality Hero Velvet Award for 2024

An independent retail village in Ely that celebrates its one-year anniversary this month has won the Hospitality Hero Velvet Award for 2024.

Award

Victoria Morbey, co-founder of Ben’s Yard, said: “We are incredibly honoured. This award is a testament to the efforts and dedication of our team and the wonderful businesses that make up our vibrant community."

The Awards asks members of the public to nominate their favourites in each of 12 categories: Producer, Farm Shop/Deli, Pub/Bar, Tearoom/Coffee Shop, Street Food/Pop-up, Restaurant, Chef, Food Hero, Sustainability Hero, Equality Hero, Hospitality Hero and Community Hero.

Ben’s Yard, a rural retail village on the beautifully landscaped Stuntney Estate, features a hand-picked collection of independent retailers spanning fashion, homeware, lifestyle and more.

It will be hosting a birthday event on June 29 with live music, street food, interactive workshops, children's entertainment and more.
